This course dedicated to first-year students in Applied Foreign Languages aims at initiating learners in understanding the historical evolution of the literature of the former African British Colonies. In this class, students will have the opportunity lto earn about what constituted today Afrcan litterature, orature, also known as African precolonial literature. Colonial literature implying the literature written in African indigenous languages will be scrutinized. The African literature written in English will be unavoidably followed by everlasting Debate about the language of African Literature which resulted in a Conference held in 1962 at Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda.
